The Vasari Corridor
Firenze

The Corridor was built in 1564 by Giorgio Vasari in only five months to celebrate the wedding between Francesco I de’ Medici and Giovanna of Austria. It is a covered passageway that starts from the corridor of the Uffizi Gallery and runs on the Ponte Vecchio. It served to link the Pitti Palace to the Palazzo Vecchio, the two residences of the Medici dynasty.
This corridor contains more than 1000 paintings including the collection of Self-portraits by some of the most famous masters of the 16th to the 20th century.
The guided tour includes a general introduction to the Uffizi Gallery and the visit to the Corridor.
